Vacuum sensor wires
I have a 1992 Lexus es300 and It came with the two disconnected red and green vacuum sensors on top of the valve cover. I’m not sure what wires go to the two prongs in the vacuum sensors. If anyone knows the color wires that correspond with each of the sensors prongs. I’d greatly appreciate a quick reply.
Hello,
Here is a Parts Catalogue for your car, is is the part 25701 that you are referring to? If so, those are not the Sensors, they are Vacuum Switching Valves, or VSVs. The Diagram linked earlier shows the Routing for the Tubing, as for the Wires, each Pigtail is Keyed and Color Coded such that it's impossible to connect the Wrong wire to either Valve by accident, unless you are really trying. A picture would be helpful in case I am missing something.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you for the reply, I’m more confused on which wires go to which prongs on the green switch. I’m changing out the male connector and I’m unsure of how the wires original orientation. There’s a black and red striped wire, and a black and orange striped wire. I’d like to know which one is hot and which is ground if they are one or the other. The owner previous to me cut the male connector off the green switch. So that’s why I’m posing the question. Thank you again.
I tend to not trust Wire Colors, never had much luck with them. Below is a Pinout of the Connector in question, while it may appear Green now, it was once supposed to be Blue, another reason I don't trust colors.
One of Two wires coming to the VSV is the 12V After the Ignition, to find it, turn the Ignition to the ON position, then use a Test Light to find the Wire that has 12V on it, that would be Pin 2, the other can be found through the process of elimination, making it Pin 1. That said, it's a simple Copper Coil, there shouldn't be much of a difference anyway..
Hope this helps and best of luck!
