I have a 2012 ES 350 w/ Nav but without Mark Levinson. I want to delete the nav so that I can install an aftermarket option with Android Auto/Apple Carplay. It's not really possible to do without problems since the nav touch screen is how you adjust air vent and fan speed for the climate control. I was wondering if I bought a center stack that came out of a non-nav car, could I swap it into mine since neither car has Mark Levinson audio? This would include everything from just above the ashtray up to the air vents. Climate control display, radio, cd player, everything... This is what I have equipped. This is the rear of what I have equipped. This is what I want to swap for. This is the rear of what I want to swap to. This is the end goal (or something similar).
When I look on Crutchfield, it says to keep the factory radio if you have navigation (which is to retain the climate control). I really love my car, but I'm an audio nut and want to go full aftermarket with audio.
I'm aware of DSP's, active LOC's and other tools to maintain factory headunits, but I'm not interested in those.
I realize the plugs are different between the two, but one of these is likely for the 6 disc changer, which I don't care about. I also don't want to keep any factory amplifiers. I wouldn't mind running new speaker wire if needed either.
The HVAC is all I really need to swap over. I could run new 12V, switched, ground and speaker leads to run the audio. I also don't need the steering wheel controls to work either.
