Having an ongoing problem with my 1997 ES 300. I had the speed sensor changed about 2 years ago and the car has not been running the same performance wise since then. The odometer constantly goes blank and turns off, the RPM gauge will jump inconsistently and the check engine light comes on. I had the speed sensor replaced recently and the same problems are still occurring. My mechanic also checked the connections in the cluster Any suggestions on what can be causing this to happen? Anyone also encounter this same problem??

 

Why was the speed sensor replaced 2 years ago?

 

Because when I had the initial problem, that was the cause of the problem when it was first diagnosed. Now the same problems are still occuring as before

The same issues I’m currently experiencing now… the odometer turns off, the speedometer doesn’t work and the check engine light comes on and the rpm needle acts erratically

 

Bad cluster? All the grounds under the hood should be checked.
