Default Bad battery? Specs

Just checked my battery with a new battery tool i bought. Problem is I dont know I dont know how many cca the Lexus Battery is in my 2013. It looked like it said 650 but possibly also 850. It got smudged off. Its a premium Lexus Battery. Ive had the car for 4 years now.

I put 850CCA, this was about am hour after driving the car for awhile

This was the car cold (over 24h) I put 650CCA. It was cold over night.

can anyone off advice based on these readings?

Seems strange the the battery isn’t coming back to full voltage of 12.8 or so after an hour running. You replaced the 650 CCA original battery with an 850 CCA and it is only showing 12.66V after an hour run? (Not sure why you showed 850CCA and 650CCA…are these from different batteries?…or are they manual entries on your tester?). Put a battery charger on it for 8-12 hours and see what you get. A new replacement battery is seldom at 100% and requires several hours on a charger. I replaced mine at 7 years with a 950 CCA becuse cold weather and/or a lot of short trips don’t make a battery happy in our newer cars with lots of electronics and electric steering. In fact I also put a battery charger on it overnight about twice each winter to keep it in peak charge. A 750 CCA battery is considered “heavy duty”, an 850 or 950 is “extra heavy duty”.

One last thing…a battery need not have a “Lexus” sticker on it to be perfectly adequate…any good brand should be sufficient (and cost a lot less!)

It's not the original battery. No one here will have any idea what you have in it now, but at over 4 years old, might want to start looking at replacement options.

Since you don’t know if that is the original battery or not (might be a dealer replacement since I think 10 years is too long to expect one to last), I recommend recharging it and seeing how long it lasts with good charge. Might be time for a new one. I would recharge it and take it to a battery shop and they can load test it for you for free. Remember that batteries in cars in hot climates don’t last as long as ours do “up here” when reading comments about battery life in these forums where many of the owners seldom experience temperatures below freezing.

One last item, Dejan…it could very well be the low battery that is causing your TPMS issue as well.

I replaced my battery earlier this year and noticed a few things being different. Of course it cranked faster, but what the primary change was the Lexus Easy Exit/entry system, (where the steering wheel and seat move when turning on/off the car).

Whenever I would push to start, the system would start moving the steering wheel and seat, but in the middle of the crank, it would pause until the engine was started.

After replacing the battery, it was completely smooth and seamless with the transition without stopping. If this is happening, it may be that the battery isnt giving enough juice.
