Performance brake pads for ES?
Hello, I have a 1999 Lexus ES300 upgraded with front 1996 dual piston brake calipers. I am trying to look for some performance brake pads that I could drive on the street and could handle high heat when I go on runs in the canyons. A lot of times I've had had issues with brake fade and I would like to eliminate that especially when I'm driving in canyons and need brakes. Right now I am running akebono ceramic brake pads and there are a lot of ceramic brake pad options but I want some semi metallic performance pads I could run but I just can't find anything. Do you guys have any recommendations on some pads or some brands that have front brake pads for a 1996 Lexus es300?

Hello,
This really not a performance car unfortunately..
One option you may have is installing the calipers out of a 4th-gen ES300/330, where they switched back to 2 pistons, and made them a bit bigger, they should fit just fine, but only if you have 16 inch rims or bigger. For the rear, Avalon brakes are also bigger, but they will require replacing the back dust shield as the rotor size is increased, though it shouldn't be a problem to find them in California, lucky you..
As for the pads, here you can find a considerable amount of options, I haven't tried any semi-metallic pads in a every long time, so I can't give much of an advise.. Try looking through them and see what reviews you can come up with.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

These will fit your car but you'll need 16" wheels or larger

You use your existing caliper brackets, rotors, and ES pads. More than enough bite for daily driving. 2002-ish 4Runner pads, calipers and rotors might fit my memory is hazy on this.
