Left Turn Signal (hyper speed)
Well today I was driving around in my car and when I turned on my left turn signal, it was blinking twice as fast as normal.
I know that this is normally attributed to one of the turn signal bulbs blowing out, however, I parked the car, turned on the Left Turn Signal, got out, and both Front and Rear turn signals were in perfect working condition (except both of them were blinking twice as fast...
)
Could someone please help me out as to what's wrong?
Thanks in advance

there are two filaments in the 1157 bulb, one is the parking lamp, the other is the signal, if one burns out (parking lamp) your signals will still work but mayb blink twice as fast....

Hello,
I recently found this site and I see it has some good info.
I have a 2000 ES300 and I can see the signal bulb is not working properly.
Since this is my first Lexus my question is; What is the easiest way to get to the bulb?
The fuse box is right in the way of just reaching in and grabbing it?.
Please don't tell me you have to remove the wheel and fender well just to change a bulb.
(Hopefully the side marker housing can be removed to gain access)
I'm only good with GM and Ford products, but I'm trying to get to know this one !

Hi Dr.Savage, welcome and congrats on making your 1st post on CL
From what I understand, you can change all of the headlight bulbs (lows, highs, parking lights) from underneath the hood w/out removing the headlight itself. The turn signal bulb should have a whitish or grayish, plastic cover for the housing, and a flange-type **** so that you can twist on and off easily to remove the bulb.
Here's a sequence of how to remove the turn signal bulb from an ES headlight (this is from a spare headlight of my old '96 ES. Bulb locations should relatively be the same with your '00 ES).

Good luck.

Thanks for the pics, but there's no way to access the top of the housing because it's all tucked
under the front clip and fender?.
This is on the driver's side and there's a fuse box right behind the housing and along the fender
and the battery is right beside the fuse box,so ?
Even the headlight bulbs are barely accessible with all that in the way.
I'll probably kick myself when this is over, but as I said earlier this is my first import so
some things are a little out of place compared to a Corvette or GMC truck.

Hey FYI
i changed my corner turn signal bulbs for 97 es, its differnt than the 92-96 ES, but its still relatively easy. The headlight casing and the corner turn casing are taken off separately, and once you take of the corner casing, the bulbs is right there, very easy.

Ok, I figured it out. FYI
There's a black covering across the top with plastic fasteners and I removed the corner fastener
and found a phillips head screw underneath.
I removed the screw and the side marker housing slides straight out.
The bulb was good so, I took a small screwdriver and slightly pulled up the contacts in the socket
and that solved the problem.
