Default I Need a Rear Reciever for a Bike Rack

Has anyone got a good link where to buy and how to install a reciever on the back of a 1996 es300? I have a 4-bike rack I would like to use for our 2 bikes. I don't want to use our trunk rack for this journey, because it won't let me open the trunk without unloading at least one bike like I could with a reciever rack.
Any suggestions?

Hello,

This car was never designed to have a tow hitch receptacle, but it does appear that U-Haul may have a trailer hitch that goes in place of your tow hooks in the back, here is a link. It should be pretty standard, but you do need to verify fitment before splashing out for one.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Well, having watched that video from Uhaul I suppose I might have realized that what they have is a hitch receiver built for 2,000lb of trailer, which seems kind of overboard for about 50lb of bicycles.
Any other suggestions?

That's an industry standard solution for carrying bikes in the back of a car, so it will be the only readily available device available for your car, since it is much easier to make one standard receptacle instead of adopting to each and every make and model individually, let alone the people who already have a tow hitch in their cars. If you really want something different, you will likely have to fabricate your own solution, but you will only end up sacrificing a lot of standards features for no apparent profit.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Well I thought I made that point myself. I would be sacrificing the 1950lbs standards. I'm okay with that. Especially in light of the fact that U-haul says that hardware is no longer stocked and my in fact not even exist. My question is: any other suggestions?

Back to my project to have a rear BICYCLE RACK reciever (this is not for towing anything) I notice that the rear bumper makes a very solid place to weld a reciever, all I have to do is remove the plastic bumper cover. I am finding just 4 fasteners that are obvious, but before I get started pulling it off I'm hoping one of you might have some constructive advice about removing the cover, maybe even a video, the likes of which I am not finding a good example on youtube...

Right... there!

Well I done it; rear bicycle rack off the bumper and I can still open the trunk. It still needs a piece of trim but until that shapes up there's always Gorilla Tape.

That is some HARD steel to through-bolt. I went through 2 drill bits drilling 4 holes.

It has a gusset underneath too.

Getting the bumper cover back on was a bit of a .... México aqui venimos!
