Default Window not going down

2002 ES300

Passenger side rear window does not go down using the switch on the door or the switch on the drivers side main panel. I hear clicking when trying to bring the window down from the main panel but nothing from the actual switch on the door itself

Bad motor?

Hello,

It is a common problem on those cars. Before trying to get any parts, slam the door shut a couple of times while holding the switch down, see if it will help. Here is a post that should help you if the previous method didn't work for you.

You can also try an Advanced Search function of this forum, it is usually much more convenient.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Well, glad that helped!

There was a TSB (#EL010-06 SEP 06) released for this issue in 2006. From my understanding, the issue lies in the window seal, which, apparently, is somehow trapping the glass in the closed position. Toyota added what they called a "cushion kit" into those seals as a remedy (refer to the picture below), some say it actually worked, some say once the warranty expired, issue persisted.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
