Es300 new cat still fails emissions
Hi, I'm Chilli. Can anyone give me an idea as to why I can't pass emissions.
I've put in a new cat (I think it's wrong part, too small)
I've installed new muffler system
Bought new gas cap
I just had a tune up and by 12/20/20 I'm due next oil change
This all started 2 years ago with CEL and failed emissions. No one told me to check things out. I didn't know better back then. Now after having done all this work it fails so now I'm having emissions systems checked. Tech says he can't diagnose the problem and that I should ask for waiver. Trouble is it's ONLY good for one year so I'll have same problem later.
Any ideas please, anyone. I love my car she's beautiful and runs well, quiet and looks really good no rust. I get asked if my car is on that's how smooth the engine is. Although after the muffler work I swear my engine is loud, sounds rough and feels slow entering highway. It has 311K+ miles but a Toyota engine is good so I'm willing to spend a little more.
Btw: muffler shop that did the work cleared the codes without telling me (he told me drive 100 miles to reset the computer) nor did he say what the codes were. I've been doing this since June 2020 now it's December 2020 and I'm out of time. It should've reset by now!
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Is it not passing because the readiness monitors are not reset or is there a code?
if you don't know buy or borrow a code reader.
You did not mention the year or what State you live in. Depending on the age of the vehicle, some States allow one or two readiness monitors in pending status and still pass inspection.
