i have a 2002 es300 and the trunk lid wont open for me. took car to shop for a different problem and got the car back and now lid wont open. press key fob and the button to open trunk too and it does nothing. checked valet button too and nothing, fuse also. please let me kno if you have any other ideas

Can you open the trunk with the manual release which is accessible through the locking pass-thru behind the center armrest in the back seat? If so, I would look to the wiring that goes to the trunk latch. I've heard that this wiring gets bent back and forth each time the trunk is opened and you could have a broken wire.

Hello again,

My 2003 ES300 does not have a key operated trunk lock and I suspect that the 2002 ES300 did not either. Unfortunately the key is not an alternative.
