fixing the safety hazards (flashers) that won't turn off
hi guys this is my first post here!
I bought a 2004 ES330 with 165K miles, great car, but I had a problem this morning.
my safety hazards or flashers are on and won't turn off, I tried to press the button and take to fuse off(which turn it off but you can't use the turn signals), but nothing happened, so I took it to a TOYOTA dealer to check it and to do the oil change since I have about 500 miles to the next oil service, so I said lets go check the problem and do the oil change at once.
I went to the dealer and do the oil change, it cost about 29$ and the check for 65$ (they gave me a good discount to 30$) and they said the button is fine so we need to do more checks and it will costs around 400$!!!!! JUST CHECKS NO FIXES.
I said no off course, i took it to my near house mechanic and check it, it was a relay, it didn't cost me more than 20 $.
the relay located under the driver side above the gas pedal but you will need to remove some trim parts.
this was my experience with this problem and how to deal with
