Default 1996 Es300 1mzfe Power steering hydraulic hose

Hello,

Does anyone know:
1. What size male flare is on the hydraulic power steering hose that goes from the fan to the pump. If it's factory toyota power steering pump, is it 17mm or 16mm is the question? All the aftermarket hoses are 17mm male flare nut, but I know that the pump I have only accepts 16mm. The hoses I took off looked factory like to me.
2. Does anyone know where I could get a 16mm male flare hydraulic hose aftermarket?
3. Does anyone know where I could buy an adapter to reduce the 17mm male flare down to 16mm.

Thanks,

Ted

Those hoses have a 17mm threading, and the power steering pump is 16mm. It won't fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the gates that you mention, and it won't fit.

How do you know the fitting is 16mm? I don't think I've ever seen a 16mm anything on a Toyota or Lexus. Maybe try the Edelmann ? I put one on a '93 it fit and is working fine. The best way to fix this is get the original repaired there is a shop here that does it they will repair any type of hydraulic setup. But not everyone has access to this service.

Does the old fitting thread in?

Lexus2000

I had the ps pump rebuilt and it came back with protective plugs in the hose ports.
I took the plug out and it works in a 16 mm 1.5 pitch nut.
I took the gates hose i have which is documented to be 17mm. It does not fit its too big. The other power steering hose port has a 16 mm union bolt and it screws into either port.
THe original was thrown away because it was trashed.
