Yep lost them. And has no spare key

Can a locksmith make a new key or do they have to tow the car to the dealership and have them program/make a new master there? 2000 es300

Dealer might be able to do a VIN lookup.
You can also get a used ignition cylinder with a key from the junkyard and just make copies.

As far as the programming, you can do it yourself if your handy, see my writeup here:

Lol, after you dropped the key on the ground I thought you were going to drop the ECU as well.

Default Do you have the key code?

Greetings,

If you have the key code 1010Keys (on Ebay) can make whatever key you may need at a very reasonable price. The dealer can probably provide the key code if you show them the registration.

Good luck,

Haha, not yet, that ECU was still good in case I needed it.

Default Key code

Hello again,

I'm not certain but perhaps the manufacturer can help you get the key code from the VIN number. I recall emailing them to get a list of my car's features and I confirmed that the dashboard is real wood and not plastic. I think the web address is www.lexus.com or www.toyota.com and then drill down to find customer service.

Good luck,

Has anyone actually found their "key code"? Dealers are clueless or playing dumb.

Yes, on my Lexus GS350 it came with a little plate with a few digits on it. The dealer uses that (in combination with the VIN presumably) to recut the keys.

Hey everyone I actually got the key code from the dealer for free! Now what is the best route to go to get a key made with that code? I don't need the alarm right now but I want it to be able to open the doors, trunk and start the car. Thank you guys.
