Power steering fluid
Correct me if I'm wrong but I was reading my owners manual for my 94 ES and I believe it says to use Dexron II automatic transmission fluid instead of power steering fluid? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Most Japanese cars use ATF as the PS fluid (Honda uses gear oil). That being said, you can use just about any ATF and be fine...I like to use Valvoline MaxLife in my Toyotas and Lexuses, but some people on the Toyota Nation forums prefer stuff like SuperTech (Walmart) Mercon V because it's thicker and will be less prone to whining.

Have had good success with SuperTech Mercon V in our 98/99 corollas.
I have used MaxLife in my 02 ES300 but as mentioned above, it whined. I reverted to Toyota Dexron III. Will experiment with ST Mercon V next change.

I'd just use SuperTech ATF at Walmart that's rated for Dexron-III (Dexron-III is compatible with Dexron-II). It's cheap and gets the job done. Also you won't have to remember what fluid is in the system if you stick to the user's manual recommendation.
