1998 Lexus ES300 Wipers hit window edge
I have a question, the wipers seem to extend too far that the drivers blade runs off the window and of course makes an annoying noise. 1) is there an easy way to adjust how far the blade go, I know this is the function of the wiper motor, but not sure if its a programming thing, or if there is something that controls the movement distance?
In all my research I keep here about summer and winter modes, does a 1998 have this, and could this be it?
Thanks Ron

I'm new to the ES300 but I've had a few Camrys which are basically the same thing.
the odd thing is the wipers sit lower than on the camry that they can't be lifted with the hood down. On my 2008 VW you would have to hit the wipers once to put them in "service" mode I haven't tried yet on the ES.
I guess the first obvious question is if you have the correct length wipers, they should be 22 and 18.
when they are not in use do they return to their normal position? or do they sit higher than they are supposed to? trying to rule out wiper arm alignment.

Maybe the windshield was replaced and the arms were not bolted back into the correct position. The wipers have a "winter mode" you pull up on one of the arms and it will snap into a higher resting position.

Okay here is a video of the wipers in motion going off the edge of the window and then in the off position where they sit on the window. I still have not located anyone on Summer or Winter mode, but I have not got my hands on an owners manual to know if this is related and what direction to pull or push on the wiper blades.

the drivers side definitely looks higher than it should be.
if it's in the winder mode as they mentioned, try pushing it back down, try the passenger's side, I've read it's easier to push them down from the passenger side arm.
