Default Three Spoke Steering Wheel

Does anybody know if the three spoke wood steering wheel from the RX 300 (99-03) would fit on the first generation ES 300 (92-96)? I think this would be an awesome upgrade and want to make sure that the fit is right and the airbag would hook up alright before I go ahead and buy the wheel. Thanks!

It will fit physically, but you would have to cut and splice your wiring for the airbag and cruise control. That's something i'd stay away from.

you might not have to splice anything and yes it is a bad idea to splice anything to do with an airbag
the cruise control may be the same harness plug as they share them on all lexus vehicles ( at least all i have seen the little fob on the right side )
the airbag not sure about at all try going to a dealership and asking if they have one you can take a look at

good luck

Actually they may look the same BUT the harness plugs are different on the different model years and models itself.

No. i meant in generations. Some models share the same harnesses..some dont. i.e. You can't just put a newer 3 spoke ES300 wheel on an older ES300.

If I was guessing, I wouldn't even be telling you any of this. Think about it.

Actually yes I have. 3 spoke RX300 wheel on a Solara. Don't ask me why, but my friend wanted to do it. He bought the wheel on EBay...and after figuring out that it was too much work to retrofit...he put the wheel back on sale on ebay. Need I say more?
