Your vision for your vehicle is just that.....your vision. Don't listen to these folks who tell you not to do this or that.

If the wheels are 1st on your wish list then I'd do as a previous poster suggested and check out tire rack for some ideas. I personally find their wheel fitment "visualizer" to be the best. I'm new to this site, but not modding cars. You have to take the large majority of what is said on these forums with a grain of salt.....seems like you are, so well done. I plan to add new wheels to my 4es in the spring and think I'm going with some 19's from the later model IS. I'd like to go with 20's, but the sidewall height combined with the roads in my area would set me up for recurring migraines! Good luck, I'll be watching to see what direction you chose!

You have a bit of a thin skin. If someone asks for input, they get input. It may not be what they like but, they didn't ask for agreement, just input.

If the guy wants to ruin his car (IMHO) that is his choice. If he wants someone to agree with him, he should email his mother.

OK, here is some actual input. Unless the paint on the car is trashed beyond repair, don't throw a cheap paint job on the car. This will look awful (trust me, I have been there). Either get the paint reconditioned by a quality shop, spring for a $5K paint job, or get another car. A quality shop can wet sand, buff, and wax the car and make it look quite nice, for maybe $400.

Also, if you DO spring for a quality paint job, don't change the color unless you are willing to paint EVERYTHING, which will add another $1K minimum to the cost. Door sills, trunk, engine compartment.

Now, is that sufficient input for you?:
