KYB struts + H&R springs front not compatible?
So I purchased a set of KYB struts and H&R springs from another forum member here. First off let me say that this thread is not meant to bash the seller. He's been on the forum for a long time, great communication and has still been in communication with me to this day about this. here's the link to the original thread, so that you guys can see the struts and the springs that I have.

It took me a while before I got them installed because of money issues and other things, but when I did the shop called me a couple hours after I dropped the car off saying that the bottom perch where the spring rests is not wide enough in diameter to support the lowering spring. they ended up just using the OEM struts up front. I still have the struts. I'm starting this thread looking for a solution. Is there some sort of plate or mount I can put on the strut to support the springs, or were these the wrong strut for these springs, I have no idea as to why I'm here. Please any experience with this would be great or members with this same setup let me know!

so I did a little research after posting this, and I guess the 92-94 camry/es300 fron struts are different from the 95-96 and the 97-01 front struts, but the rears are the same....definitely weird and different from what I've heard

I considered buying that set for my '98, until I ran the part numbers with the KYB catalog. What I found is that the front struts were not compatible with the 97-01 chassis, only the rear ones were - just like you said. Also, the H&R springs had a different part number when compared to the 3ES model.
KYB GR-2
334131 - front (NO)
334132 - front (NO)
334133 - rear (OK)
334134 - rear (OK)
H&R Springs 54682-2 vs 52424 (3ES)
You're gonna need different front struts, there are no adapter plates to speak of. In addition, that will just be dangerous.
