Fold away driver side mirror is loose
Hey everyone. Hope this isnt a repeat, but I could not find anything. Today I noticed that my drivers side mirror no longer stays in place. It is a 96 ES300. Whatever held it in place to keep it from moving on the fold away mirror no longer is holding it in place. The mirror moves back and forth with no effort. Also, while I was playing with it, I noticed that I could lift the entire assembly up, not completely off whatever rod/mount it is on. I compared to the passenger side, which stays in place, and cannot be lifted. Any advice on this would be so appreciated. Right now I have a piece of rubber stuck in between the mirror assembly and the mount on the car to hold it in place... How custom is that... LOL.. Thanks in advance!!

I do... After further comparing the driver side and passenger side, It looks like there is a clip that holds down a spring inside the mirror housing has come loose. It is possible to remove the mirror glass so I can get in there and fix it?
