Thoughts on tail light tinting?
Trending Topics
It's a trend that is slowly dying out. I personally think it looks incredibly tacky, especially when it's done to expensive/luxury cars. I saw a Corolla with smoked tail lights once, it was so bad that you could see paint runs.
use the paint for tagging something
my son did his truck - I had to buy new tail lights (those were pretty cheap on eBay)
if you get rear ended - you may have to pay for the rearer's (the gal that ran into you) damage
I am sure there are lots more reasons NOT to do it

to be honest, if it's done correctly it could look pretty nice...lots of cars have have a darker version of tail lights or headlights
but most of the people who does it is just overkill....blacking it out...first of all, it's not safe..and most of the time it looks really bad.
i wouldn't mind if someone did a very very light smoke tint on the tail lights....with maybe like 70~80% tint for a glaze look, but a 10% film is just stupid.

plus it can lead to unintended consequences - like getting rear-ended when the guy behind you doesn't notice your brake lights until he plows into them
