1999 ES300 Key Fob Not Working - Battery fine
I am unable to lock/unlock doors (or open the trunk) with the key fob to my 1999 ES300 although I've confirmed that I am using a perfectly good battery that is installed correctly. Do the switches or electronics in these things eventually fail, or is there a reprogramming of some sort that may be required to get it to work again? Appreciate any suggestions.

Everything fails .......... is this happening with both keys?
And just so you know ........ you don't want to only have one key ............ if you loose it ........... don't ask what you have to do to get another key and what it will cost.

If you have a dealer you can go to take the fob (both if you have two) and go to the parts department. They have a signal tester that will confirm whether or not the fob is putting out a good signal. If it is then the car has lost program, if not then the fob is at fault.

Thanks to both respondents. I have two keys, but only one fob. Just discovered that the fob will LOCK but neither other function (UNLOCK or TRUNK) gets any response. Does this indicate a failed fob?

Lexus 300 ES key fob not working
Lexus dealer advised me that it was not my key fob or fob battery. Service department informed me that my 1999 300 ES door fob would not open or lock doors because three door actuators needed to be replaced at a cost of $395.00 each. Now my only question is, if the fob is good and the battery is new, why does the Panic Button on the fob not sound an alarm since I assume the Panic Button is not tied into the actuators.
