Question HID Lighting

I just purchased an HID kit for my car. I just want to be sure though, will a 6000K HID headlight (low beam) melt the stock housing on my 97 ES300?

Thanks in advance

no it wont. just installed a 5000k 35w kit on mine. the only thing u might consider is a relay harness if urs is a 55w.

okay very good. another question though - did your light kit come with pig tails on the positive and negative connections for the bulb? mine didnt. it just has the positive and negative wires, then metal wings on the end, no protective housing or pigtail or anything. I'm timid to install it just like this.

^^ that's how they all come... just put some silicone around the terminals/electrical tape.

You're supposed to feed the wires thru the hole in the dust guard. Mine went back on like OEM, and all hidden.

I'm running 8K HID's in stock housing without a relay and havent had any issues for over 2 years now. I even have 6K HID's in my fogs without any issues. Also, both my kits are 35 watts.

I used a RTX kit (mentioned in my sig). Havent had any problems thus far. Might switch to a 6k though ... I like 8 but depends on what I decide on my fogs if I keep my car.

I get "cheapos" off eBay... But the seller is reputable and I'm convinced. After having a kit last close to 4yrs and in two cars before the ballast died. Pm me and I will forward you the link. Best part? 55$ shipped... Within the week!

35 watt HID's shouldn't melt anything. I would only be worried if you bought 55 watt HID's without a harness.
