My 98 ES300 throttle cable slack too, the bolts aleady moved to the left max. But it is still slack.
Have to add the spacer at the gas padel to shorten it.
The result is big difference!!!
The jump/shake of gear-shift 1-2 , 2-1 and Reverse were much improved.
Hope this helps!

So I was reading this, and I was wondering, do I move them to the left or to the right while facing the cable from the front of the car. I have a 1996 ES 300. Thanks!

Move both of those bolts as far to the left as possible (toward the passenger's side of the vehicle). That will give you a really good throttle response. I like no slack in that line, because sometimes you will hit the accelerator and you won't go.

Please let me know as I am tempted to do this.
Thanks in advance for your input.
