Default DRL Relay

Hey guys! So, my 98 ES300 didn't come with DRL's, but I know that the ones that did have a DRL relay underneath the dash area.

So, my question is whether or not the relay is there no matter what? And if it is there, can i activate it with a fuse or something?

Im not an expert on the ES300, but I dont think there is a relay just sitting there and if there was, the ES300 models that have the DRL have the dual filament bulbs, which means its wired for the dual filament bulbs, my 98 ES300 has a single filament bulb and its for the High Beam. The ES models with the DRL have dual filaments, one for the DRL (low wattage) and the other for the High Beam. Then you have your standard single filament bulb next to the DRL/High beam, thats used for your low beam night driving.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd take a moment to correct the misinformation in this post. The DRLs are implemented by running the high beam bulbs in series, resulting in half-voltage across each one, and much dimmer light. They are NOT dual-filament bulbs, just single.
