@yeskay, yes the (stock) alternator (it was like brand new when I took it out)WAS NOT CHARGING the relatively new DIE HARD BATTERY, I was always having starting problems, my car sat for 3 days , the car started WITH A STRONG CHARGE,the new 130 amp alternator now fully charges the same battery

^^Can you give us any info on putting in a 130amp Highlander alternator? According to Camry people you have to change the wiring a bit, not sure if that was the same for the ES.

Thank you sir, I had a feeling I read some bad info that is good to know! I picked up a closeout 130 amp Highlander alt from Rockauto for $85 with no core woohoo! Hopefully it might address the flickering lights issue, seems bad on my CA emissions ES.

How do you know it's not charging? I would check the battery.

@Mr Booby,my girlfriend killed my battery last Saturday (engine off, playing radio) it was hard to jump, car started good all week,3/9 Saturday battery was dead again, jumped easy, Sunday i got battery charged, and changed battery negative cable, auto zone said battery was bad, but it still started Monday,12V reading at 5 pm after work,,the battery has died too many times in the six months I had this car,I believe the upgraded alternator is better but research shows Toyota/Lexus cars/trucks new/old many of them have this same mysterious parasitic draw on the battery,

I will do the fuse ammeter tests and also,I will watch the car closely and report back, if I still encounter problems I will just install a battery cut off switch, and never know the correct time of day while driving, ha

Check to see if your memory seat button is pushed in - it's a common problem that causes a current draw.

@yeskay,I understand the job of the alternator, but my research is showing that Lexus/ Toyotas are known for having charging, battery drain problems,I just bought a die hard battery, let's see if the upgraded 130 amp alternator will keep it charged,I will keep u posted ,
