Default ligher socket does not work

Looking for help with my cigarette lighter socket, which does not work. I looked for the fuse also (which is one for radio & lighter together). Since the radio works, fuse cannot be bad. Wiring on the socket seems to be fine, although I dont know much abt it. Suggestions are highly appreciated.

You gotta pull the ashtray and test for voltage at the lighter socket.

Ironically, a guy just posted a similiar question on TN for his Camry.

Take the lighter unit out and check it over. Often, they get corodded and don;t work. Espetially when the lighter itself is often used.

look down inside with a flashlight. See if anything is in there.
I say that because mine lighter didn't work either when I got the car. Upon inspection there was a small piece of foil (gum wrapper type) that had fallen down in the socket. When you pushed down the lighter, the foil closed the circuit and the mechanism thought the lighter was fully heated and popped it right back up.
