ES330 Alignment question
Hi All,
More questions about my 05 ES330. I purchased it used with 45,000 mile recently. Bought new tires at Firestone store and they did the complementary alignment check. It was okay for most specs, borderline on a couple and barely out of spec on one the Right Rear Camber. Firestone states it should be between -0.6degrees and -2.1degrees. My wheel comes in at -0.5 degree, just barely out of spec.
While at the Lexus dealer getting a few little warranty issues fixed I mentioned this to the service rep and he shakes his head and sez: If you aren't using a Lexus alignment rack you are bound to get these screwy readings, that if my RR wheel was that far out I would trashing RR tire within 5000 miles. The tires I took off were warn but evenly with no apparent alignment wear. He made no effort to try to get me to do an alignment or even quote me a price, so I am left wondering.
I just wanted some feedback that maybe I should get this checked or aligned at the Dealer, elsewhere or just forget it, the car seems to handle well on highway, no shakes or drift. The Firestone folks seemed to think that this alignment issue could not be adjust out, that it probably indicated a bent shock or A Arm.
Thanks all
Michael
BTW I put on Bridgestone Tourenza Serenity 215/55-17 V rated all seasons, not a performance tire, but handles very nice and is soooooooo quiet. I only have 1000 miles on em, but so far a nice tire, and good in the rain.

lexus doesn't make alignment racks, lol
anyone using the current series hunter equipment can give you accurate readings. 0.1 off isn't horrible but if you're concerned you could probably get your hands on a camber bolt.

I pretty much figured he was blowing smoke up my backside. I was suprised that he didn't pitch an alignment from them while he was poo pooing a alignment done anywhere else. Between this and the quote of $600 plus to replace brake bads and turn rotors I suspect I will be making very few visits to this dealer after the warranty period expires.
I had other questions about the car that the dealer didn't answer to my satisfaction but I will post those in a new thread.
thanks all
Michael
