today i started my 93 es with 133,000 on it and all of a sudden it had a rough idle. than i pull out of my drive way and when i give it gas its stuttering pretty bad than it gets better as i go faster??? anyone have any clue what this is?

Better or normal? cold or hot or both? could be plugs, wires, cap, rotor, egr carboned up, injectors or vacuum leaks... Thats what I would check first...

it runs normal and this was when the car was cold i didnt drive it cause i didnt want to mess anything up

Does it misfire when it's on idle? Like, kinda jerks a little at a stop light?

OK, one or more of your sparkplugs could be dead. But it could mean more than that. It could also mean that there is oil in one of the cylinders causing it to misfire. I'm guessing it's one of the cylinders in the back. You could check the front first by removing the spark plugs, look at them to see for any oil. If there's none on the 3 in the front, check the back. 3 in the front are easy but the 3 in the back are a b!*%$.

For most of us who have already encountered the problem, rough idle most likely means that your throttle body is dirty or clogged and needs to be cleaned. This requires disconnecting the intake tube from the throttle body and airbox, and spraying some carb/throttle body cleaner spray into the butterfly valve and using some cloth to wipe the gunk out. Really makes a big difference in how your engine idles.

if ur not experienced in working under the hood just go and get it checked out at a local garage. not the dealer, they will charge u an arm n a leg. best thing would be to do what i did. build a rep wit a garage and find the dude who seems like hes not a ***** and get him to do the work after they close and pay him under the table. thats the best thing for an older cars like ours. my guy jus charges me for the parts since i help him with the labor.
