I joined the club today!
Today I purchased a 1997 Lexus ES300 on ebay! This gem has under 44,000 miles and I got it for $8900! I am picking it up this up coming Saturday....

Actually a lady owned it, she died and the car was passed down according to the will. The relatives that got it either let it sit in a garage for a long time or didn't use it much so they decided to put it on ebay.

No plans yet, I am just going to get it back and make sure all the maintenance and what not is up to snuff. This will be my commuter car back and forth to school instead of taking my 2500HD that gets 12 mpg.

Also check the tires - mine ('94) had been sitting for many many months when owner finally decided to sell (older couple, this was her drive to market car that they ended up replacing with an RX)...had been sitting on underinflated tires that ended up cracked and splitting. Was odd cuz had plenty of tread left, but when I took it to get them rotated and balanced after I bought it, the shop guy showed me the splitting was so bad you could see the steel belts in many places....
