crazy idea? when your cluster needles are bad paint to luminous color?

i started another Thread about all my needles on the cluster are not working, these needles makes me feel that they are hard to fix. i am pretty sure there are a lot members are suffering this problem on their ES. i think paint them to Luminous might make them work without change to Leds inside. but the Luminous needs light sources to make them light up, and in the other side that our cluster cover is tinted, i am not sure the sun light will enter to the needles at day times.or can it gets the light source from the gauge backlights? any ideas?

ParkerGen, one of the nicest blokes on the board from Down Under (with a hawt ES), tried this with silver paint. They were certainly luminous, but I believe he then had to front-light them for night time visibility.
You can read it for yourself here, (right around post #36ish) and maybe ParkerGen will even chime in here.
(seems like he's been kinda quiet lately )

+1 for ParkerGen's crazy cluster ideas.
Why don't you paint the needles white and then put a black light bar inside the cluster? I think that would give you more of the luminescent feel you're looking for.

i don't want any luminescent feel, what i am saying is using luminous paint on the needles to make a replacement of the original Leds. because luminous will lights up after it is been charged with some light sources.

Simple chemistry explains that with use, it will decrease in overall light output over time. I'm going to guess that you will get maybe two weeks max with good light, then just unsee able crap.

Covering the problem won't solve it...and you will probably never be happy with the outcome. Just replace the needles (search on ebay....maybe you'll get lucky) or have them fixed by lextech (sp?)
