1997 Es300
Hey im new to this forum and to lexus. previously i had a e36 m3 and i just got this as a dd. i was wondering are there any performance things i can do to my car. i mean its alright but im used to my m3 and i was wondering if i could do anyhting. when i look for parts i cant ever find a decent thing for 97 es300. if someone can help me that would be really great. thanks
Try looking on ebay or this website: www.prostreetonline.com , a little advice though, there arent too many performance parts available for this car, its not a sports car lol. Most of the parts you may need to have custom-made and that's gonna cost $$$$. Good luck tho
.
Congratulations and welcome to the club. The 1997 ES 300 is the first year third generation model. I have a 1996 ES 300 and still love it. It's my daily driver. Have fun with your car and happy driving...
go look at the website i posted above, pretty much anything that is available for this car will be there. enter your car and it will show you what fits on it. Yes there are lowering springs available, there are intakes, and some other small mods. As for an exhaust or headers or anything like that your gonna need to go to shop and see if they can custom-make something for you. and when i said its not a sports car, i meant that since its a family sedan, not too many companies worried about making performance parts for it.

You'll find a tasty little thread on ES performance here with our resident ES/Camry/Windom engine guru "Pheonix."
Being a 3rd generation (97-01) ES, you'll find more mods than are available for 1st and 2nd generation ESs. You'll find exhaust, intake and suspension mods for your car; "Stage I" type mods as I've seen them referred to on other sites. Don't plan on finding a lot of major bolt-on modification pieces with high availability.
As I've found on many car forums, there are members who explore the maximum mod threshhold, adding a turbo, blueprinting a new block, etc. There are members who swear by staying stock. There are many of us somewhere in-between on that spectrum. The thread I've referenced will be an excellent springboard for you, and the search button is your friend. Since I've begun modding my own '92, I've found material written on here as far back as '92 is still relevant and there's incredible depth.
