I have a 1996 ES300 that does not have a front license plate mount. I live in Illinois, so it is illegal not to have a front plate. There is no holes in the front to mount the license plate holder. I went to different auto parts store and the dealer and cannot find a license plate mount that will somehow clamp onto the bumper without drilling holes in it. Does anyone has any suggestion on this?

I had to drill holes ... And then I moved from California to Utah and no license in front needed anymore!

wtf? are u serious? it is illegal NOT to have a license plate in the front? wow i never heard of that before, does that mean you need one in the front AND the bak, or just in the front? but newayz, if worse comes to worse, use duct tape lol jk.

if u dont want to have holes in the front u can go ahead and customize a hole underneath the bumper that is over the fog grill. that way if u ever want to remove it u dont see any holes.

or a different way.. the way i did on my 2k3 accord. ill post pix later.

i live in CA without a front plate. never came with it and i've never gotten a ticket. i guess they see a maroon ES and think it's just some grandma driving. :P

I got so many too many tickets here in CA, I just gave up and put the darn plate on.

You can use 3M double back tape, the same stuff used to put on your emblems. This is very strong adhesive and should hold the license plate on very tight. I also do not have the front plate on my car and do not have holes drilled in the bumper. It is a very clean look. But if worse comes to worse, and I get too many tickets ( haven't gotten any yet), then this is what I will do.

I'm with LXMN quality foam double sided sticky tape!
I don't think a state anywhere near here does front plates, but if you look *real* hard at the front bumper from the right angle.

You can see the indentions in the paint & plastic where you would drill out holes for the front bumper. Just clean the area with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol real well & let it evaporate before you put the tape on. That way it has the best chance of sticking on there for a long time!
