How do you mount the OEM front bumper license plate holder bracket? I just spent 30min without luck. I live in state where front license plate is required (and don't want to get fined). Any instruction would be appreciated. Photos or video would be even better. Thanks!

Very surprised that this is not in the manuals (or I can't find it). I'll bet the answer is to align the bracket at it's "natural" orientation, then use self-tap screws provided through the bracket into the front facade.

This image may get you into the general area.

Also, if anyone stumbles upon the Lexus part number for a Euro style front plate mount for 2019 ES, I'm interested.

Lexus dealers always install it for free...just take it to service area and valet will install it within minutes...no need to even talk to any service advisers.

On the gen 6 ES cars Lexus placed dimples in the front bumper to indicate where screws would be inserted. None in the 2019?

I have mine mounted inside the trunk. It looks much better there!

So glad my state does not require a front plate. It takes so much away from the appearance. States that do not require one: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware,Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana,Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico. North Carolina, Oklahoma,Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

Mike: What's the fine for not displaying the front tag?

I've gone without one since the mid '80's. I have been pulled over about 5x in that period. Only once was I given an actual ticket and that was in the ES, oddly enough. I think it was $50, which I just paid by mail.

Dealer gave me the option to have them install it or not. I might be pushing the legal envelope, but I love the front better without the license plate. I have the license plate sitting in my glove compartment, ready to lay and display on my dashboard as needed.

Is that a legal option in CA? It is not in IL and will get you pulled over quicker than not having it out at all.

What's funny is one of my warning ticket stops, the cop told me why the front plate is required. He said, because of hit and runs. There's a good chance the front plate will fall off and remain as evidence. I kept a straight face and apologized for it not being displayed. It was not easy, though.

Thanks @calgold06 it is exactly as you said no appt needed and they installed it in minutes, for free, the only thing is it requires drilling into the front facade (fyi for anyone reading this) there is a horizontal black bar behind the vertical rakes where the license plate holder is attached to

it’s required in CA. I’m in south california. most police won’t pull us over/write ticket just for that. I got my only ticket in my 4 years of no front plate because I was pulled over for speeding. After walking around my car, the officer gave me a warning for speeding and a ticket for no front plate. The ticket is only $25 anyways (and go to the nearest CHP so they can see I installed the plate and sign the ticket).

i zip tie my plate when I go on road trip because the police in rural town is very boring and will write ticket for everything.

there are many people who have no front installed. Also, the dealership I bought my lexus didn’t install it on the car (unless I wanted to). They just made me sign the waiver saying I requested them to not install it.
