Default Thermostat

Sorry to ask a newb question, but where exactly is the thermostat located? My car started running hot the other day (past 3 o'clock) fluid was not low, and the water pump appears to be running normally. It is getting so hot it's effecting the car's performance. My car is a 1992 ES 300. Thanks in advance.

Cool

The termostat is always the return hose from the radiator.
It's the lower one, near the alt.
Make sure you're fan is spinning corretly by bridging OP1 & E1 in the diagnostics port with the engine running.

Thanks. One more question: Do you have to remove anything around the housing (besides the hose and clamp) or is the thermostat housing exposed?

How exactly do you bridge the circuits? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really stumped.
