Default Daytime Running Lights

Hey just wanted to put this out there, I found a way of disabling the DRL's on my 99 es by modifing one of the relays, I clipped one of the pins after much testing, and all my lights work fine now with NO DRL'S!! The only drawback I had was, my high beam indicator light in the instrument cluster would remain on during the daytime when my headlights were off even though my high beams were really not on. So if u can deal with that light while u drive, then its a free fix untill we find something better. Just to warn everyone though, these relays can be very expensive to replace, so make sure you really want to do it b4 u do. It does work fine with only that one flaw though. Also since its right next to that relay, The big black relay (the dimmer relay), went bad on me a while back and caused my high beams and fog's to not work anymore, the dealership wants 80 bucks for it, and Im not willing to pay that, any suggestions on where to get one cheaper??? Im going to check out some junkyards today....

I disabled the DRLs in my '01 ES before by simply unplugging the connector for the high beam bulb. Then after about a week of driving without DRLs, I decided to plug everything back in. IMO it's a totally different experience driving without DRLs, something I can't live with. But for those who abhor the DRL look, the mod provided by BumpinLex is interesting to look at.
