I remember a question on here a while back that was never really answered. On the third generation ES (1997-2001), can you use the key or the remote to open the windows and sunroof? That'd be helpful now that it's so hot. Anyone know if this is possible, and, if so, how to do it? I would check now with my own car but I'm at work.
The only way I know for sure is as noted in your owner's manual. When the car is shut off, use your master key and insert into the keyhole of either front door (driver or passenger). Turn CW or CCW (I forget which is which, try both ways ), and you should see that the front windows and sunroof will open automatically. Turn the key into the other direction, and they all will close up.
Yeah, Mercedes does that. Even the new GS's don't do that
CCW == Open... on my 2001 it opens the sunroof and the 2 front windows
CW == Close, same windows as above, which does not include the 2 rears.
I think the main reason that Lexus didn't incorporate the auto-close feature is for safety reasons.
Although, they do have auto reversing if the windows hit an obstruction. This only works on the individual windows and the sunroof.

Yeah it only works on any window that's auto-up (or auto-close, in the sunroof's case).
I wish there was a way to switch out the back window switches and motors so that i can make those auto-up as well (i'm lazy)
