Default Remote Keyless Entry

Can any of you tell me what year Lexus started using the keyless entry that is integrated into the key? I've seen the blank key fobs for sale on Ebay for a 99, but my 99 does not have the integrated keyless entry in the key.

I have a 95 and it has the remote keyless entry fob (single button). i'm sure the 94ES has the same, not sure about 90-93. sounds like you only received the valet key when you took delivery of the car. i may be wrong but you may want to confirm if you need a master key to your car to program a new key fob.

Let me just clarify. I know that they all come with a key fob, I'm wondering when Lexus integrated the keyless entry into the key itself. My 03 GS3 was that way, but not sure when it became standard and you didn't have the key and fob.

I believe the ES300 didn't get the remote head key until 2000. You should have a seperate remote fob for your vehicle.

Take care,

Tami

Tami is right. The 3-button (lock, unlock, trunk open) integrated master key fob did not start until the 2000 ES model year.

Did the '94 come with the separate remote fob? I have the single button on the key to unlock/lock, but no remote fob?

Is it possible to get a replacement from a dealer...especially the dealer that sold the car originally?

Thanks!

Nope, the '92-'96 ES came with the same kind of key you have. One button on the master to lock/unlock. Yes, you can get a replacement from any Lexus dealership, not just the one where you bought the car, but be sure to have a couple bills ready to pay for a replacement

Thanks ....so it sounds like I'd be better off adding a 3rd party security system with trunk release capabilities.

BTW...on my '04 Highlander, it makes the same "beep" when locking/unlocking as my '94 ES, but the lights flash on the Highlander...are they supposed to flash on the ES? (Sorry if I'm asking a lot of stupid questions, but this is first experience w/my own lexus (my old man has gone from the SC400 to an '02 IS300 to an '04 IS300))

Thx again!

No, the parking lights and tailights don't flash when factory alarm is set for the '92-'96 ES. The '97 ES started having that feature.

Default About the e-bay intergrated key

About the e-bay intergrated key, would it work for my 98 es? I have not gotten a reply from the seller yet, b/c my 98 es has a separated key with a transponder and a remote entry fob. Has anyone ever got the e-bay intergrated key and work for their 98 or 99 es, which I believed to have a separted key and fob; does it make sense what my question is? Thanks in advance...
