Heated Seats
Looking to get heated seats installed in my 97 ES300. How much would this cost? I cannot install them myself as I have no knowledge. I would prefer to have the factory type seat heaters, not an aftermarket model. But I am open to anything.
Also, where can I get the blue lights that the new luxury cars have installed from the factory? How much are they? Are they legal? And are they hard to install?
Thanks!

Your ES must be pre-wired for heated seats. I'm not sure if all ES's are pre-wired like it, but you can stop by the dealership and inquire. I've never heard of aftermarket heated seats...
You mentioned about the "blue" lights in new luxury cars. I think what you probably mean is HID (high intensity discharge) headlamps. They "look" blue when warmed up, then they turn to a nice white color afterwards. If this is what you mean, yes it is possible to install HIDs in your ES, but they have recently passed a law banning the selling of HIDs from aftermarket companies. It's perfectly OK to get them installed from the dealership, but be prepared to fork over loads of money.

The DOT/NHTSA started enforcing the law on August 15th by threatening sellers of any lights that didn't meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 with fines. Before that, sellers could claim immunity by selling the lights with the disclaimer "For Off-Road Use Only. Not for use on Public Roads." It appears though, that some smaller and some foreign merchants are still selling the kits.
Eric, did you get the 01 lights for your A4? Your sig has the projectors changing from red to blue, not sure if this is a mod still in the works
