Default 1998 ES300 brake light switch replacement

1998 ES300. I'm so old or rather "old school." I thought it was a simple procedure to replace my wife's brake light switch like the old american cars. How do I access that brake light switch? I was trying to access the switch at night...what a silly old man am I. How do I get access to that brake light switch please? Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones. Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Emm, well, it's in the same *old* place as it always used to be, here is a Parts Catalogue for your car. It is tucked in quite deep under the Dash, and can be tricky to reach, though if that's the case, my only suggestion really would be to take the whole Driver Seat out to make up a lot more room. It will also have to be properly adjusted after you install the New Switch, it's a long thread with a jam nut, just so you know..

What happened to your current one? Those Switches are extremely reliable, so far I've only seen one mention of anyone ever having issues with it, and even then it was on a 4th-gen ES, not the 3rd that you have, if you have problems with Brake Lights, chances are the issue may be elsewhere.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
