Is that part the same as a reman transmission? I don’t know the difference
That is a manufactured unit. I like the warranty on the tranny from Autozone but at the same time suspicious. What kind of loop holes and gotchas are there.
To be clear the part number changes up to this https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...-33331-84.html
I like to post the original for reference. A potential gotcha on the transmission from Lexus is you won't find a dealer that sells at MSRP instead much higher. Have to buy at a dealer or you'll pay a fortune on shipping. And there is a core charge.
This sux to read. What issues were you experiencing? Seems the more I dig on these trannies, the more it doesn't seem uncommon for them to go out. Would you mind sharing what their rebuild price is?
If the car was well taken care as you say, the car will def last you a long time with a new trannie. If it was neglected, body and interior in rough shape I'd sell it.
Im terrified as I'm having issues with mine and I just bought the car a month ago only for it to slip in 3rd sometimes with only 110k miles. Is buying a used low mileage trannie not an option? Seen many 80-100k miles ones sell for $800-1000 free shipping.
I was where you were at with a previous car that had a trannie go out.

I am not an expert on this, so I can only give my experience. Mine slipped somewhat but also started to jerk a lot during driving and would eventually start not engaging at all. Maybe get an evaluation done at a transmission shop? You could also just use a stop slip product for now. But eventually it might get worse. That’s what I did. But I also tried a rebuild, and they couldn’t finish it because the core wasn’t salvageable.
On my car, everything else seems to be in good shape, although I wish I could do a compression test. It’s partially disassembled right now. I have never had any engine issues tho.
I haven’t purchased it yet, but I’m looking at this autozone transmission because it has a 3 year warranty and 90 day return policy even if it is a bit more, and it’s remanufactured, not used. Used ones concern me, because I don’t want to be in this situation again in a year. At least I have 3 years of likely decent use and maybe more beyond that if I go this route.
