Heater Core?
Hi Everyone!
my 2017 CT200h has been leaving a slight cloud on the inside at the bottom of the front windshield for the past couple months. Now I have a slight coolant smell. I’m in denial it’s the heater core. No smell under the hood. Is there anything else or something common to these cars regarding my symptoms? I hear there are two different coolant reservoirs. True?
if this turns out to be the heater core has anyone ever changed their own? Any advice?

This is sounding like it could be the core. Perhaps stuff the windshield vents with paper towel to see if they eventually turn pink. Yes, there's two coolant reservoirs, but they are not related to each other. The reservoir on the driver's side of the car is the inverter cooling system, and the one on the passenger's side is your engine/hvac loop.
I looked through my manual; in a nutshell, it looks like evacuate the A/C system, remove wiper tray and associated ducts under the hood, remove steering wheel, steering column, disconnect brake pedal from dash assembly, remove all dash pieces from the main dash, remove the main metal lateral dash support, etc etc.
So it's not taking the whole dash out, per se, but it's essentially peeling it all off to get to it.
