Arrow OEM remote Starter: Does it work on 2016-2017 CT's?

Can anyone confirm if the OEM remote starter works on 2016-2017 CT's? I'm not sure why it's listed for only 2011-2015 model years. Did something change in 2016+ on why the remote starter would not work?

I want to pick it up because it's only about $175. Compared to the aftermarket 12v solution remote start which is almost $300 after tax/shipping..etc. However ALL aftermarket remote starts I am looking at state the work from 2011-2017... so I'm wondering why the OEM unit would stop at 2015 and not finish the last two years of production here?

OEM Part Number: PT398-76111

Thanks,
-Nigel

I think your analysis of the compatibility (OEM vs Aftermarket) is correct in terms of what's available. Having worked for Lexus, I can say that the last run of a model is usually where they begin value engineering exercises ("cost cutting"). Either the 16/17 remote start unit capability was built-in to another existing module to save mfg costs, or market research determined that no one was ordering the option, so they dropped it as an OEM offering.

2016 CT saw the addition of Lexus Enform Remote with the Lexus app IF the CT had Display Audio or Navigation. If it didn't have a screen, it didn't have Enform Remote. But since 3G is shutting down, so is that service for 2016-2017 CTs.

Honestly I would imagine that add on factory remote start would still work. And that the only reason Lexus states up to 2015 is because it became a subscription service.

I kinda figured that as well honestly. I ended up picking up a Directed DB9 module with a BCM T-harness and OBDII T-harness. Took me 10 minutes to solder onto the t-harness and then used tecka tape to make the harness look OEM. Programmed it and installed. Remote start works fine and best of all it cost me about $100. I almost bought the 12v solution kit since I used theirs on my wife's NX and my RCF.. now knowing about all this, I could have gone the same route with those two cars as I did with the CT..lol Would have saved me a few hundred bucks for sure! Oh well. All is working great. Won't really use it until winter I'm sure.
