NEW owner, with a big issue!
Hi, own a 2012 and it rocks. But now I have the steering shaft knocking. Going to try to tighten bolt. Don't know how to access this bolt. Panels need to come off etc. Can someone point me in right direction. Thanks a ton.

Same issue about a year ago. Can you reproduce the knock, put it in park and gently move the steering wheel right and left. If you get the knock it can be the rack and pinion gear and or steering column. I had both changed. Not under warrantee and I couldn't find a technical service notice or recall. There should have been something out there. With all the cars I owned I've had never had to change either of these. Dealer cost is high Rock Auto part cost is about 1/2 but not something I could do in my driveway.

I am pretty sure its the intermediate shaft, that is making the slight clunking noise while turning. If it is, there should be a updated part available. pretty common in Toyota Side and some Cars in Lexus lineup. So look into that before changing the steering rack.
