I was trying to adjust my Tanabe coilovers the other day and the fronts went fine, but I wasn't able to adjust the rears because the rings would move the threaded (gold) part. I'm wondering if this was manufacturing error or if this was because I wasn't able to put the car on jack stands, so the car was only lifted on one corner.

Any help appreciated

The rings move, but the threaded shaft moves with it, so nothing gets adjusted in the rears.
