And you think you know your vehicle even after 2 1/2 years of ownership...

By accident, I noticed these tiny small overhead LED lights tonight in the ceiling by the sunroof controls that beam down, one red when in Sport mode, one blue when in the other modes!

Yeah, I saw that when I was messing with B mode and it shined on my hand one night after 3 months of owing our CT. Two separate LEDs, you can switch them off in the settings menu too (I think).

 

I noticed those too! I got a loaner from the lexus dealer and they gave us a 2013 Ct200h for the week. I wish all the newer lexus came with overhead lights like the Ct200h.
It looks pretty nice.

 

Yeah it's funny how you think you know your car and something pleasantly unexpected pops up. This was a tricky one though. The tiny lights are recessed in tiny holes and angled in such a way you can't notice them unless you lean forward very close to the dash and look up to the ceiling. I don't use the sunroof too often, let alone at night so with the right conditions, major discovery!

what is the purpose of that light?

 

I guess you guys don't put a lot of fountain soda cups in your cup holders, because as soon as you do (at night), you will see the light reflecting off the plastic lid and straw. That's how I discovered it.

I think it's part mood lighting, part lighting to see where your cups are exactly so you can reach for them with ease while driving. I do love how they made them part of the driving mode theme.

 

It's a spot light so you can see things around the gear change and cup holders.

Most vehicles have them, but the CT ones are uniquely cool.
