Default Reprogram ECU for MPG

hello everybody. i recently purchased a new CT F Sport (january). so far, got to say i love this car. came over from a 2012 G37 Conv. so completely different car, but don't regret it. The G was too expensive to keep up. and with LA traffic, i couldn't really use all the horse power.

now, this is my first hybrid car. so, there is a new learning curve with driving this car to maximize MPG. what i noticed is, when the batteries are charged, i can force it into EV mode. now, my car only goes up to 25mph on EV mode. so, my question is, is there a reflash of the ECU or reprogramming of the system so it can go up to 40mph on EV mode? i think, that help me get even better MPG with it and it would help with even more of city driving. my car has only about 1200 miles on it. so, i heard there is a break in period that will help improve my MPG. but, just trying t see if there is something else out there, that would help. the only thing that i have found, was plug-in hybrid alternatives, but that is too expensive and not what i had in mind. so, just checking if its possible. thanks!

I think its best to use EV mode in like parking lots or side streets. I rather save the electricity for coasting than accelerate with the just the electric motors.

I usual hypermille (pulse and glide) provides the best results for increasing mpg. You can coast on the electric mode till 45mph then the engine assists. Google pulse and glide method for prius.

Theres a reason why its limited to 45mph. Heres a link that gives you a better understanding of how a CVT operates. (
) Its pretty long a boring but it gave me a better insight on how the whole hybrid system works.

i saw your video. thanks for info. sounds like it is more complicated then an easy ECU reflash.
