Default Splitting 1 USB --> 2 USBs, Ipod Still Work?

Hey All,

So I'm currently using the12V Port for the Dashboard camera and the USB port for the iPod. I am needing another USB port to charge my phone---- I was wondering, if I was to use a USB splitter to split the USB into 2 ports, then use one for my iPod and the other one for charging, would I still have ipod control functionality through my steering wheel and nav?

Thanks!

You need one of these:
Scosche usbc202m VOLT c2
You can find it here:
Amazon Amazon
This is a device that plugs into a standard 12v car outlet and has 2 USB ports. I have one in my SC430 and I love it because it takes up no extra space at all.

^i think what OP is asking is that if he splits it up, can he still control ipod or not.

Good question tho, I assume not because the car wouldn't be able to diffieretiate between charging a phone or chargingusing an ipod.

I would think it would still work as long as he is not using the USB ports to plug in both an iPod and an iPhone. A regular phone would just draw some current and charge the battery and the car would see the iPod as a device. Besides, if you have both and iPod and an iPhone, you only need the iPhone anyway. I say give it a try.
