Default OEM Grill Surround (Pictures)

Purchased a tungsten pearl grill surround to repace the factory chrome surround on my new 2012 F Sport Special Edition CT200. Could not find any installation instructions so I did it on my own. Unfortunately the surround is not only held on by clips it also has a phillips screw at the lower end on each side. By the time I got done the chrome surround was in pieces. You must remove the engine cover and loosen the top of the upper grill to remove the two screws. The tungsten pearl surround looks great!

I had a busy week replacing the interior lights and license plate lights with LED's, adding Kensun 5000K low beam HID's (had to file the edges), added a bamboo wood decoration and added an F Sport badge on the trunk. I had the dealer add lighted sills, mount snow tires on new graphite trident wheels to store for next winter and add parking sensors. The parking sensors are a limited attempt to avoid running into objects under the car (the limited edition is kind of low to the ground with the spring package).

Plan to add HID fogs and a shark fin antenna next week. I am getting to really like the car despite it's lack of power. I keep it in sports mode most of the time!

How much did it cost you to add the parking sensors?

Way too much! Front only sensors were almost $600. Thought the dealer would install OEM sensors and a switch which didn't happen. They used third party sensors?

HID's a bigger problem than I expected .... separate post. Dealer screwed-up the parking sensors and had to replace them. They installed rear sensors with 7 foot range (front should be 2 feet) with no on/off switch on the front. They were going off all the time in trafficand I couldn't turn them off!

Got pulled over for speeding in sport mode. The Trooper saw my scared little dog and let me go. Surprized I didn't get cited for "tinted windows". Sometimes it pays to be a senior person.

I will get some pic's this week.
