Default Should I wait for 2012 CT200H?

I just read this from CT200H forum,
http://www.ct200hforum.com/forum/lex...12-ct200h.html
I've put deposit this month, and was told I should get my car in 90 days. Should I pick a similar match of 11' model quickly or wait to get the exact match of 12' model?

I don't understand why Lexus would release the 2012 six months after releasing the 2011 model. They are usually pretty strict about keeping to a 1 year lifecycle for their cars.

With all the problems Lexus is having in Japan, it just seems like a bad idea to change model years this soon. Of course we have to remember that the CT came out over seas in November. That would make October close to a year even though we didn't get it until March.

I thought the CT was released worldwide Feb 2011/March 2011? It was JUST announced at the Paris Auto Show in October 2010, and they didn't even start production in Japan until December 22, 2010.

Here are the sales figures for Lexus Europe and it includes the CT debut. The date on this press release is April, which by educated guess, Lexus Europe's fiscal year starts in Jan, and it is mentioned the CT debut went well.

I think the HS was released on a different schedule than the rest of the Lexus lineup as well.

In the Australian market the only change for MY12 CT is a change from the dark grey to a mid grey (similar to BMW Space Grey). This colour is being replaced across the Lexus range over the next few months.

The F Sport lower grill is also being changed to match the upper grill.

These are the only changes, and I would imagine this would be the same for the US market, as with all previous changes to US models we have received the same.

For the Australian market it is still available. I would think if it is still being produced then the US would continue with it.

You're not THAT old, right?! Besides, I win. I just turned 23 and I feel like I already have early-onset dementia kicking in. Now where am I again?!!? What year is this?!

Just add 45 to your age.

Now what were we talking about?

New Lexus model years generally come out in late August/early September but all the models have been on weird lifecycles. Generally its been a 5 year lifecycle for most Toyota/Lexus models. The exceptions to this are obviously GS and SC.

CT did launch late for its time. Usually a new model car for Lexus launches at least 5 months in advance of the new year. The 3rd gen GS and 3rd gen RX are exceptions to this as they were introduced almost a year prior.

A handful of CTs were already at the Port of Long Beach back in early January...but didn't release late Jan/early Feb to dealers.. Unfortunately like Mike@vossen mentioned, the Japan quake/tsunami really hurt production. If dealerships are already talking about 2012 MY CT's...then it will be coming out shortly. With the way production was pushed back, don't be surprised to see '12 CTs at dealerships by October or later.
