WHY CHOOSE A SIKKY MANUFACTURING SWAP KIT?
Sikky Manufacturing has been designing, testing, developing, and manufacturing swap kits for the GM V8 LS series engines for over 8 years now. With kits currently available for the Nissan 240sx, 350z, Infiniti G35, and BMW E30 chassis’, we have a strong understanding and knowledge of what exactly is involved when doing a swap of this caliber. Every piece we offer is designed and manufactured in-house; the end result is the most comprehensive LS1 swap kits available.

The concept of our kits is to make the install of these V8 engines easier than installing the OEM motor. Installation is as simple as can be due to the fact that there is no cutting or welding required when bolting these setups into the car. All of this is possible because of the high level of technology and skill used when designing, manufacturing and testing our swap kits. We are sure to follow a strict regimen of steps throughout the whole process.


The first step in designing a Sikky swap kit starts with developing the basic mount kit components. Our basic mount kits consist of the engine mounts and engine mount bushings, oil pan, transmission crossmember, transmission mount bushing, driveshaft, and all the needed hardware.

We start this process by scanning in the engine bay and underside of the chassis using our FARO arm which collects millions of data points. From there a 3D CAD model of the engine bay and underside of the vehicle is created. Our team of engineers then gets to work designing the mount kit around perfect engine placement and our proven concepts. Our motto at Sikky is “make the parts fit the car, not the car fit the parts”. The last thing you want to do is modify your subframe, change suspension geometry, or hack up your firewall in order to make the engine fit. At that point you are greatly compromising the performance and safety of your car and also creating much more work for yourself than is needed.

Using these CAD images we begin to build the major components. Strength, weight distribution, load, and many more factors go into the design phase.



The motor mounts get cut from solid 6061 billet aluminum to mil spec standards in our CNC machines allowing us to produce the highest quality mount available.






After we have designed our mounts with perfect engine placement, the oil pan is designed next to meet several criteria. By obtaining the highest oil capacity possible while making sure ground clearance is optimized, the pan is a huge upgrade from OEM. A removable baffled sump with trap doors keeps the oil around the pickup tube during hard cornering or acceleration. The pan bottom is kept above the lowest point of the crossmember to reduce any risk of sump contact. These pans are designed to help eliminate some of the common oiling issues associated with these GM motors.





The transmission crossmember is designed next with strength, fitment, and ease of installation in mind. We make sure these parts are more than strong enough to put up with the abuse they will see.





The next step is headers. When putting an LS1 engine into a totally new platform every little inch of clearance matters. 1 header tube being .25” too far over could lead to many headaches down the road. It is for this reason that we utilize a great deal of new technology when designing each new set of headers to ensure the best possible design and fit. The priorities are always making sure installation is as simple as possible while maintaining superb fitment. After we have finalized a set of swap headers we then make our jigs and move them into the final stage for production.

This completes the major components of the swap.

Lastly we sort out all the final pieces needed to finish this LS1 swap puzzle. That can include power steering lines, clutch master cylinder kit, brake booster kit, sway bars, etc. After we have fully developed and manufactured our swap kit we take the running test car and put it through a battery of tests. The products are also abused through our network of team drivers and cars competing in different forms of motorsports around the world. These parts take a beating that is extreme compared to what they would see during normal use. Now that the parts have passed our thorough and abusive testing process we move everything into production. No corners are cut when Sikky develops a full swap kit solution!

Having installed two of these kits already, one in a customers SC300 and the other in a MK4 Supra we can vouch for the fact that this is hands down the best engineered quality kit for this chassis out there. If you want to pull everything out of the box and bolt it in without headaches this is the way to go. No searching around for this part or that, Sikky has the one stop solution for swapping the LS motors.

The high capacity oil pan and trap door baffle make me comfortable considering we know the customers will be abusing these cars around the track. Do it right the first time!!!!!

PICTURE BUMP!

Here are some pics of the oil pan included with the swap. Please keep in mind that this is the pan used during R&D so it is a little marred up from being installed and pulled out of the test cars a few times.

This bad boy is leak tested with over 10psi of pressure to ensure these welds will never leak!
